CGHS Beneficiaries Association (CGHSBA)
Serving beneficiaries with dedication, cooperation and a commitment towards better healthcare services.
The CGHS Beneficiaries Association (CGHSBA) is a registered, non-profit and non-political organization established in 2009 under the West Bengal Societies Act (Registration No. S/IL/73036 of 2010-11).
Our primary objective is to protect the interests of beneficiaries under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). The Association works relentlessly for betterment of services through communications with competent authorities at Additional Director Office, Directorate and Ministry levels.
We also maintain close coordination with empanelled HCOs so that beneficiaries receive hassle-free treatment during OPD and IPD admission.
The Association continuously works towards opening new Wellness Centres in suburban areas, other big cities and townships of West Bengal where CGHS beneficiaries have historically been deprived of dispensary facilities.
Persistent efforts and dedicated representation have helped improve healthcare accessibility.
Following a tireless and dedicated struggle, the Association succeeded in the establishment of a CGHS Wellness Centre at Ishapore on February 28, 2019.
The process of establishing additional dispensaries and Wellness Centres in other target areas is currently underway.
The Association continuously connects with HCOs situated at District and Sub-Division towns and requests their empanelment with CGHS to facilitate beneficiaries living in those areas.
Medicines are now mostly distributed over the counter, with remaining medicines provided through the local indent process.
Beneficiaries can obtain life-saving medicines directly from their Wellness Centres, reducing repeated trips to the Additional Director Office / MSD.
Through continued reciprocal communication, the number of doctors has successfully increased from the sanctioned one to three.
Our Helpdesk functions as an active support system for CGHS beneficiaries.
We guide members in filling up medical reimbursement claim forms and help them overcome administrative difficulties.
Assistance is provided for changing the names of principal cardholders and enlisting dependent candidates in service records to secure family pension and CGHS benefits.
Eligible individuals are guided through the complete procedure for obtaining new CGHS cards.
Beneficiaries are guided regarding procedures for specialized treatment at empanelled hospitals and advised regarding non-approved tests and costly medicines.
We maintain direct contact with the Additional Director (A.D.) Kolkata and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) to address sudden or acute issues faced by members.
We provide dedicated assistance to beneficiaries whenever they encounter difficulties related to CGHS services and administrative procedures.
Held every Tuesday at our operational/ working office to provide routine medical check-ups to beneficiaries.
Organized once every year in collaboration with three to four highly reputed empanelled hospitals (HCOs).
The Association officially observes Doctors' Day on 1st July every year.
The Association's Foundation Day is officially celebrated on 18th September every year.
We take immense pride in our growing community, which currently includes nearly 1,800 Life Members from West Bengal and other states.
Our members include both retired and serving Central Government employees from a wide array of Departments and Ministries across the country.
